Yes the iPad 2 is louder. Why does this matter?

I came across this from @Danny Choo's website, quite cool pictures. My favourite has to be:

It even has me thinking of getting one of those monitors!

I have a 2 GHz PowerPC G5 running OS X 10.5.8. I want to record my electric guitar with Garage Band '08. When I go to System Preferences and go to the Sound preferences to select the audio input, only "Internal microphone" is available as an option. There's an audio input jack on the back of the computer, so why is "Line in" not available for me to select?
Everything I'm looking up online says that all I need to do is select "Line in" in the Sound preferences, but it isn't available to me. How do I add "Line in" as an option?

HOLY CRAP!!!!
Ordered Wednesday - received today!!! Just got back from a meeting an it was waiting on my desk!
Opened up the brown shipping box, already thinking " wow the new box must be small", but on opening the actual iPod box was within another box!
The new box is tiny (due to the lack of power adapter  ) - it must be around a third of the size to the old box - 16cm x 16cm x 6cm. Remove the sleeve and you're greeted by the typical Apple clamshell packaging, the inner of the top section holding the headphones, USB2 cable and beltclip - the bottom (under the mini)holding the manuals etc. If anyone is bothered I may put up some pics when I get home...
I ended up going for the silver, and to my eyes it does look slightly darker than my current mini. I'll check when I get home if this is true before it goes off to its new owner.
Not sure if this is new, but there are operating instructions actually on the clear wrapping plastic surrounding the mini itself - I don't remember seeing them on my other iPods....
I'll be doing some real world testing on it tonight after I've given it a full charge and see how long the battery does last for....
I'm still amazed at the speed of this delivery! Nice one Apple!
Update: Just got home, and the new box is just over half as big as the old box, and the instructions are in fact on the back of the old mini wrapper too.... strange I've never noticed! The colours are identical - not really that surprising for the silver I suppose! The only obvious difference is the inclusion of the 6GB sign on the back of tne new mini...

Why the faffing about? You can't install an App Store ipa (free or otherwise) if you don't have a patched MobileInstallation file (a-la AppSync).
The source is up on GitHub, you should be able to import it in to Xcode, compile it yourself and install it on your device.

Have gone through several weeks of Outlook 2007 reporting that the PST file is damaged, for no apparent reason. Have tried letting Outlook PST Repair (http://www.repair-outlook-pst-file.com) itself with no success and also leaving Outlook open so that the program shuts down in a more controlled manner with Vista SP1 on closing down the PC for that session, again with no success. Running SCANPST has provided patchy success (50/50) and slows things down whilst running. What seems to have worked is setting Outlook to Send/Recieve on Exit (via 'Tools', 'Options', 'Mail Setup', 'Send/Receive', tick 'Perform an automatic send/receive when exiting').

Continuation of discussion from my thread:
I figure if we are going to keep talking about yours we might as well do it in your thread.
I think this is the best creative one, well other than mudbugs's spam one, but it doesn't count.
I still find mine sexier though

Make sure they are gone because u don't want duplicates after this:
Go to google and search iPhone Explorer, it's an app that allows u to copy things from your iPhone to iTunes. I lost my library and did this, it will transfer the song it's album art, info, and lyrics etc. And it will do apps and photos too if needed. When u connect the phone open the app and u click on your phone and it will give u lists of files just go to music then do it by artists or individual songs.

China can be a funny place. Everyone's got a cellphone, and dropping a thousand USD on an iPhone 4 is just a part of staying up to date. But a couple days ago I saw something that showed just how popular the iPhone 4 is in Apple's fastest growing market.

I was checking out the new MBP upstairs when I saw an old man in cheap clothes, worn shoes and no socks using an iPhone with the original packaging plastic kept on with packing tape wrapped around to keep it on. He was scrolling through some sort of article.
The cult of Apple stretches its tendrils to every corner of the world. You can pick clothes up off the streets, but you gotta have an iPhone 4!

Just one. A MacBook Pro 13"
I've got 6 PCs in my house though, 4 which are used commonly.

I have a 12" Powerbook that had a similar wifi problem.
It ended up being a bad connector going into the airport card. It had gotten loose and the connection quality was pretty poor.
The connector itself wouldn't stay tight in the card, so I replaced the end with a new connector that solved the issues.
Good luck.

Use Jaksta (http://jaksta.com) to download your video. It automatically converts it so you can watch in QuickTime. It's not free, but it's the most convenient way to snag video and audio off the web.

Haha that's what I was referring to!
It was a disappointment.
But 60% sounds good to me!
You should snag it and review it for me.

I heard the iPad 3 will be SO THIN that the thing looks almost transparent. The pictures you take appear to be the image right in front of you. OH and the screen can expand to WATEVER SIZE YOU WANT. Simply move your hands apart to expand the screen size!
Jesus... Just buy the damn iPad. There'll always be something better in the future...

Just hang in there, Apple will eventually update their PB's. Maybe keep checking the refurb section of the apple store for cheaper models? I've heard good things about Apple's refurbs.
