no one in their right mind would make something with 0 ports, you have to at a bare minimum have an audio out.
I agree that it probably won't have no ports, I think it will at least have 1 USB and 1 Firewire, but other than that everything could be done wirelessly, and if Apple wants to make the notebook thinner than the ports are then they may use their patent for collapsible ports that they made a while back.

Nice setup. What's the story behind the "double" windows, I've never seen anything like that before.
Back in the days before double or triple glassed windows, this was the only option for better insulation compared to a single window.

For some reason not in here. The house has a lot of history and the windows are beautiful so it would be a shame to take out the originals. They are the very thin glass that you can see the distortion when looking through(I am not sure what to call that). In this room the heat loss was bad but in order to preserve the old glass and original look outside this was a decent option We back up to a river that the american army crossed through during WWII and the last of the bullet holes from the fire fight in the back of the basement were just patched up with the latest renovation work.

What music genre do you dabble in? And what monitors are those? Do they sit that flush out of the box or did you hack the stand off in favour of some armature?
I'd say most of the stuff I do is indie rock, shoegazer and some electronic style stuff. No real strict genre.
I have two 24" HP monitors that are on their original stands and sit like that right out of the box. You can adjust the height but I like it at the lowest, that way I get a bit more sunlight in.
The other lone monitor is a 21" Viewsonic. That one I did remove the stock stand and now it's just sitting on a hard case that one of my microphones came in and is just leaning up against the wall. A bit ghetto but it doesn't look too bad.

I think this would be great if you could wall mount it and use it as a TV/ Media Center. I dont know if I'd like anything larger than my current 20" iMac sitting on a desk 2 ft from my face.

I am still really surprised that it seems as if nobody else has had the greyed-out toolbar in fullscreen Safari bug that I've got. Has anyone heard or read something that I haven't? I am much more looking forward to the next preview/beta build now, it suffices to say. ;)
I have the same thing happens with my safari in full screen where you hover your mouse over the top and the menubar slide down it is a bug because it the bar serve no function right now -that definitely did happen in DP!
Although Safari has not crashed yet where it crash several time a day in DP1

These new Mac Mini's don't seem like a great deal anymore. I think it was done on purpose to get people to upscale to a higher model.

Final Cut X is coming! It seems to have all the stuff i'm dying for.. maybe even CUDA support! Damn now I got to sell my CS5 production suite..
And yeah if you want you can still use iMovie and feel good about it. I know enough people who got a great result out of it because they did not get stuck with tech they didn't understand. All these opinions about personal choices is a total waste of time.
Rejoice the choice and do something creative with all this energy

Honestly with the new Quad Core MBP lineup it makes much more sense to get a monitor and add it to your notebook than to get an iMac. (Unless you really need 16GB of ram vs 8GB).
I can see one day only having the Mac Pro for those of use that need one (video editing, digital creation etc) and the high-powered MBP for those who don't want a tower.
desktops are slowly but surely dying out. Notebooks are becoming more and more powerful and even moreso portable so what will an iMac offer that MacBooks won't have? Larger screen?

Whether it be Zune, XboX whateva... :confused:

You answered your own question, in a way. Most people's taskes are not computational. A faster CPU will not make a page load faster. The bottle neck is the speed of the INternet connection. Same with wordprocessing and email. CPU speed is not required.
Whre this WILL help is is video editing and photography. Batch conversions of RAW images will go faster. and for those jobs they are already multi-threaded
As for how easy is it the multi-thread a program. I've done i. Basically you need to design the system from the ground up. There are some special cases where you can add it lter. this would apply to programes that do a computation on a large stack of data while the user waited. You could just swap out the computation modual. But in general it is pretty much a re-design.

I really want wireless earphones and a bigger better def screen. I just dont think its goign to happen soon or be cheap.

I read the police in Michigan were downloading info from people's iPhones on traffic stops ... only a matter of time before some innocent people get trumped up on bogus charges ... police have been known to have tunnel vision.
