It isn't even September 30th. For all we know Apple may need more time to evaluate and extend the program another month. Where's confirmation that the program is canceled that day? I wouldn't go off touting that Apple's canceling a program that hasn't been canceled. What you're upset that Apple's not keeping us in the loop? When has Apple EVER kept us in the loop?

It seems like a couple of males trying to strut their feathers to impress mates...But I don't see any mates. I'm confused.
This had me burst out laughing at your implication of that statement...

So who's Obama gonna blow up next? Syria, Yemen?
Not just Obama's attack....yes, signed on, but there was a request for rebels. I don't have as issue with the West using their military power for support, but there should be an internal force that wants the change and us strong enough to at least use some force without the West.

I love the fact that I can google search from spotlight, but is there any keyboard shortcut to choose the google search when you are in the dropdownmenu? Is it possible to set a shortcut for that? Or even move the google/wikipedia search to the top in the dropdownmenu?

I think there are quite a few users who think the same and would like to see a downgraded Mac Pro for switchers who can then keep some of their hardware.
And Intel makes a chip just for that market segment - the Conroe. :D

Not true. If you buy a Mac-app or iOS app all the updates for that version are free. A new version is a whole new program that must be bought again on both platforms.
What confuses you is that most iOS developers have decided to just keep updating their first version forever and not come out with a whole new version because they've decided that makes more sense on a smart phone than it does on a desktop machine.
But that's a business decision, not a technical one. A developer could do it either way on either platform.
MLB AtBat comes to mind, its been a purchase each year.

The advert speaks volumes to me, I love it..... a select few won't, but it's just not possible to please 100% of the people 100% of the time.
It's alright. Apple knows exactly what they're doing when it comes to ads. I'm not sure what that negative critics' basis for comparison is. All those successful Xoom and Galaxy Tab ads that were responsible for record-breaking sales? LOL

I entirely DISagree :)
It's the cost and convenience that will determine how successful iTS downloads are. I would hope for DVD quality (including surround sound).
One day I'll have a HD screen and I'll be wanting to use a HD service.. so it'd be good for Apple to have a plan there for that :)
Good point.
But it seems like most people are dying for HD over here. We have quite a few cable and satellite providers that have HD and who ever offers the most channel, people are going to choose that one. Comcast is supposed to roll out 20 more HD channels in 07. The same goes for the others.
Direct TV which is one of the major satellite providers didnt anticipate the demand for HD DVD and they were on back order for months, about a month ago, when I was choosing a cable provider. You buy that HD DVD for $200, a two year contract for HD, and rent the box then return it. (yeah right?) And you had to get on a waiting list.
I dont think anyone anticipated the demand for HD. People watch programs they normally wouldnt if its HD.
There are still a lot of analog cable subscribers on Comcast, you dont need a digital box, but they are going to be forced to use digital so Comcast can make room on the bandwidth for more HD channels.
Digital 480p isnt bad, but its 4:3 aspect.
I would say PQ is the highest concern. And I agree price is also right up there, and its a different market.

Is there a car phone version that plugs directly into the tape deck?
No, but 3rd parties sell an adaptor that will let you do it.

Very minor one: instead of the spinning wheel, now it actually says "Updating..." when, um, updating. :D

We can't expect Apple to change the name "App store" can't we? Irresponsible software developers, just stop causing confusion, please.

Yep. And Milk. Steve Jobs will climb down your chimney, eat the cookies, and pour the milk into any PCs he finds in your house :)

Neat. And we used to think Mattel Football was pretty cool. So was the Nintendo Game&Watch and some of the Tomy stuff.
I always get a chuckle out of the dismissive hardcore "gamer" types who are ready to pooh-pooh anything that doesn't fit into their myopic, narrowly defined notions of what "gaming" or indeed, fun, is or isn't. Shows a lack of perspective and critical thought.
Is this setup perfect? No, in many respects, but kudos to Firemint for their efforts and what they've achieved on a generic, multi-functional, platform that isn't dedicated exclusively to games.
Now, get off my lawn.

Nice setup! It has a little bit of everything in it!
Thank you! I like it a lot and it's about 2 years in progress for everything so far.

Finally! An iMac rumor!!!!
**Bump**
One can't never have enough iMac rumours! What a breath of fresh air.
Please, please, please let the refreshed iMac drop the May 3rd (I *highly* doubt any new iMac's will be released next week).

Unless you're driving a BMW, Honda or Porsche, gear shifters on modern cars either are too "notchy" or overly-vague in terms of finding a gear, and the result is not very pleasant, especially in city driving.
Wow! You've driven every other kind of car as well? Or maybe that's "According to ______, (fill in name of magazine or auto guru)..."

Whatever happend to the thin macbook? That is all I wanted this year.
I don't think there's been any compelling evidence to support that, sadly. At least, several very seemingly viable component technologies, such as ULV C2D's, are not available yet.
For the iSight, too, no really compelling evidence of what the revised product would be, should there be one.

the new intel integrated graphics isn't ready, is it? So these will be merom minis with a GMA 950?
This is the $64K question. Does anyone know when the X3000 is due to be released?

I like this. I really wish it didn't have the logo, though. Much classier as just a photograph, IMHO.
